When it comes to comfort food , few dishes can match the soul-warming essence of a perfect bowl of ramen. As someone who has traveled across continents in search of exceptional ramen I've developed a deep appreciation for this seemingly simple yet infinitely complex dish.

My ramen journey took an unexpected turn in 2017 while attending a Digital Multimedia class in Maryland. A quick Google search led me to Kippo Ramen, a restaurant that would forever change my standards for authentic Japanese noodle soup outside Japan.

After my first transformative experience at Kippo, I knew I had to share this culinary gem with others. The staff connected me with the manhimself, who allowed the opportunity to spread the word about his ramen.

That firs spoonful of ramen was just heaven. Having spent three years living in Japan after discovering Kippo, I can make this bold statement: Okiebisu's ramen stands shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the best I've had in Japan itself. I probably ate there at least once I week until I left, that's how good it was

How good was it? Let's just say that discovering a parking ticket on my windshield after my meal didn't dampen my spirits in the slightest—a testament to the transformative power of truly exceptional ramen.
